Tom’s story · 3 min watch
Tom built this
because he lived it.
Tom started losing his hair in his early twenties. He tried everything. Tablets, minoxidil, fibres. None of it worked. He went for a hair transplant and was told his donor hair wasn’t good enough. He found hair systems. He stuck with them. He started fitting them on close friends from his garden shed while working full-time at Rolls-Royce.
In 2015 he took his first paying client. He’s built Hair Repair Club from that into a global business, 18 specialist locations across 5 countries on 4 continents, with 500+ professionals trained through HRC’s education arm.
“I wrote in my notes eight years ago exactly where this company will be.”
When you train with the Academy, you’re learning from the person who built the industry, because he needed it to exist.
The opportunity
A sleeping giant. More people need this
than people who can do it.
“There are more people wanting this service than the amount of people that are offering this service. But trust me when I say, this industry will explode. And when it does, the ones who are involved will benefit unbelievably.”
Tom Walker · Founder, Hair Repair Club
Recurring clients, not one-offs
Every fitted client comes back every four to six weeks, reliably, on a schedule, for years. Your income compounds week on week instead of resetting every Monday.
Specialists are rare
Two thirds of men experience significant hair loss by 35. Outside major cities, trained specialists are almost nonexistent. Graduates in smaller towns out-earn those in cities.
Premium by default
This is a craft, not a commodity. Done properly, you become the only credible local option. Most students consistently build to £10k+ months in their first year.
Real students. Real businesses.
From a Canadian salon owner
to a returning mum in Edinburgh.
Three of the people building hair repair businesses inside the HRC community right now.
Best professional move I ever made. The blending module is the key to delivering that HRC quality finish.
Brent Bain
Runs shops in Edmonton and Calgary. 4 full-time staff providing hair replacement services.
I made the leap and here I am. I’ve watched Tom on Instagram for years and finally decided to do this properly.
Sarah McLean
Full-time mum coming back to the chair after a four-year gap. Trained in barbering in 2021.
I genuinely think it’s a life-changing feeling. Adds another string to my bow and gives me real work-life balance.
Jake Ranger
Seven years barbering. Manages a barbershop, teaches Level 2/3 at Exeter College, opening a home studio.
